Asus ZenBook 13 Full Review (Specs, Features, and more)

A portable PC is one of the fruitful inventions in the world of tech. What is more opportune than a portable office, college, studio, or cinema? From watching movies to making them, from reading books to writing them, from surfing the web to working online, a laptop comes in handy at all places. And, when a laptop becomes as small as a book, work becomes even easier!

Asus ZenBook 13 is the new Generation small but stylish and powerful laptop that is no less than a masterpiece. The small and sleek look can make anyone admire it as it is a combo of beauty and mind. It is the kind of laptop that puts both mind and pocket at ease. From the Intel Core i5 10th Gen i5-1035G1 processor to long battery life, there’s a wide range of specifications that makes this machine one of the best laptops under 1000 dollars and I am going to explain everything in more detail in the upcoming portion of the content.

After the first launch of the 10th Gen version of this laptop, an upgrade was done that upgraded the processor from 10th Gen core i5 to an 11th Gen Core i7, and the Graphics were also upgraded from Intel UHD Graphics to even better one that is the Intel Iris Xe Graphics. If you are the type of person who spends money as if there’s no tomorrow, then this upgrade to the previous version can be much more rewarding.

Processor

As mentioned above, the two configurations of this laptop differ based on processors. Asus ZenBook 13 UX325JA-XB51 comes with a 1GHz Intel Core i5-1035G7 processor for only $799 and, Asus ZenBook 13 UX325EA-AH77 consists of a 2.8GHz Intel Core i7-1165G7 for $999.

From this, one can tell that this laptop is capable of incredible performance, no matter what the task is. The performance makes it attractive to the eye of a professional.

Memory

The memory of the Asus ZenBook 13 is also of two types.  The one with a Core i5 processor has a memory of 8GB while the other one has a 16GB of memory that can run multiple programs at the same time and, this is why it is ideal for all the multi-taskers out there.

Graphics

The graphics of a laptop is a thing for all the gamers and the creative ones who make a living through their editing, and Asus ZenBook 13 is not leaving behind when it comes to this feature.

It has Intel UHD Graphics for its cheaper configuration and, by spending several more dollars, you can get even better graphics ie Intel Iris Xe Graphics, and enjoy an enriched view on your screen.

Storage

When we talk about storage, Asus ZenBook 13 UX325EA-AH77 can store a lifetime of photos and videos, movies and documents, and create your own pdf library on your laptop with its 1TB PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD. As Asus ZenBook 13 UX325JA-XB51 is a bit cheaper, it allows storage of 256GB PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD, but it doesn’t mean that it is insufficient.

Connectivity

Asus ZenBook 13 accommodates the following ports and slots for its connections with other devices, chargers, etc.

                    2 Thunderbolt 3 USB-C/        2 Thunderbolt 4 USB-C

                    USB-A (3.2 Gen 1)

                    HDMI 1.4

                    MicroSD card reader

Batter life

The specs say the battery will last for up to 22 hours but, the reality is a bit different. As they say, the reality is never good, but here it is not that bad. The real-time battery will survive on a single charge is 12 hours, depending on what you are doing on it, obviously. If you are a traveling freak or have a mind that keeps forgetting important things like a charger, then this feature can come in handy.

Durability

These laptops are made of a magnesium-aluminum alloy that gives it strength and helps it survive the hits and falls through everyday rough use.

Networking

It allows wireless connection to the internet through Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 802.11ax so you can enjoy the variety of entertainment available on the web as well as find all the work opportunities it allows.

If you want to share files from a device but are afraid it might transfer virus through the data cable or USB, transferring files through Bluetooth 5.0 becomes beneficial. As a headphone jack is missing in this laptop, headsets are connected through Bluetooth too.

Operating system

Asus ZenBook 13 works on the most common operating systems of all ie Windows, which allows voice commands through Cortana, a whole lot of applications are available on its Microsoft store that allows getting apps from different categories like gaming, editing, entertainment, and productivity. It also provides different login options such as fingerprint, face recognition, pin, and password, and allows much more.

The system software that is preinstalled in the Asus ZenBook 13 is the Windows 10 Pro (2004).

Weight

Besides the small size, what makes this laptop easier to carry is its lightweight. The new Asus ZenBook 13 weighs only 1.1 kg (2.4 pounds) that can be easily carried in a regular shoulder bag.

Size

The 13.3 1920x1080 display makes it a lot more convenient to carry it everywhere and shove it into tiny spaces easily, which makes it the type of laptop you want to take to the nearest café and enjoy your coffee along with work. However, if you’re not satisfied with a laptop, you better look for a the best budget tablets.

Camera

In addition to the normal 720p webcam, an IR camera is squeezed into that small space above the screen to enable facial recognition as a windows sign-in option.

There is also a shortcut available to block the camera entirely on the F10 key.

Touchpad controls

By pressing on an icon in the top right corner, a NumberPad is shown on the touchpad. The good thing is, this machine is genius enough to know whether you want to use it as a number pad or a touchpad. Another icon is present on the left side that controls the brightness and, tapping and swiping it to the touchpad will open the calculator app.

No headphones jack

One of the drawbacks of using this laptop is that it lacks a headphones jack, which means if you are a wired headset fan, this one is not for you. Personally, I think that one of the USB ports should have been replaced by a headphones jack if there was no space, but taking it out completely is a big dark spot on this white miracle of the world of tech.
